Happy Resurrection Sunday! I hope everyone has had a blessed day filled with Godly wonder and family fun. Mine was certainly a blessing. Church was inspiring and then family time was great fun! We talked, we ate, we laughed. It felt good just to relax and unwind, and not worry about where we had to run off to next. I definitely needed a day like this!
It seems like I've gotten over a few hurdles and I've actually gotten some writing done. My muse is hard to control but I feel like it's finally coming back to life. I started keeping a record of my word count everyday and it's been spurring me on to greater heights. I really thought it would make me drag my feet more but it has helped. And I've made more realistic goals for myself. When you try to reach the impossible all in one swoop, it won't work---breaking it into smaller tasks is much more manageable.
I'm gearing up for summer promotions right now. I'm kicking off June with a re-release celebration of my two novellas, A KNIGHT'S ILLUSION and SHADOW OF LOVE. It will be a summer of sweet romance and heartfelt family ties for your enjoyment. Everyone loves a good story and SIX of them are headed your way this summer! For those who have read my first paperback MY SOUL TO KEEP, you've read all the stories but they've been rewritten and revised and will be even better the second time around. And for those who bought one or more of my e-books from Lady Leo, you're in for a treat with brand new covers, created by me! And then there are those who haven't read any of my stories and I really hope you enjoy them--buy them all and let me know how you like them!
July will bring SISTER LOST, SISTER FOUND and THE RIGHT CHOICE, poignant and heartfelt stories that are sure to warm your heart! Then in August, we'll celebrate Christmas with MIRACLE OF THE SEASON and more sweet romance with THE HEART NEVER LIES. Here are some of the reviews the stories have gotten:
"...Wathington is a superb storyteller. The character development and vivid emotional details are magnificent. The flashbacks, romantic drama, and love left unspoken cumulate in a page turning romance. Wathington is definitely an author to watch!"
"I found myself CAPTIVATED by the cast of characters and the witty dialogue...I just had to let you know how much I enjoyed your novella...and I couldn't put it down 'til I was finished...KUDOS to you..."
Celebrating the day our Lord rose from the dead always fills me with renewed hope and vision. He is the one who blessed me with life and with a love of words and it's with Jesus in my heart that I write my stories. They are always filled with love and family because I feel we, as a country, don't emphasize the importance of both. I've been fairly successful in my life, and most of that success is due to the fact that I had a loving, supportive family who kept me going. I had people who kept me accountable, who reached out a hand to me when I needed help and who gave me a shoulder to cry on when needed. Family IS love to me....and I thank God for mine everyday!
What is your family like? How have they made a difference in your life? As always, I'd love to hear from you--love and blessings, Melissa
